Emma Bunton Says Spice Girls Reunion Has To Happen NOW!
Emma Bunton has said a Spice Girls reunion has to happen sooner rather than later as the girls are “all getting on a bit!”
Speaking to Fabulous Magazine, Emma says she would love to get the band back together to celebrate 21 years since the release of their debut single ‘Wannabe’.
“I think it would be great to bring out another album, maybe with our hits on.” Emma tells the magazine.
“It would be lovely to show us performing to a whole new generation. But we can’t wait too much longer, as we’re all getting on a bit!”
Rumours were rife that Scary, Baby, Ginger, Posh and Sporty would reunite last year to commemorate 20 years in the business.
However both Victoria Beckham and Melanie C opted out of a proposed reunion, leaving just Mel B, Geri and Emma to carry on the message of Girl Power!
In July, the 3 girls posted a 40 second video clip to fans stating they planned to have a big party that everyone was invited to, before teasing “we hope to tell you soon what you want, what you really, really want…”

However nothing came of the girls celebration/party idea and with the announcement that Geri Horner was pregnant, it seemed like all plans for a reunion were off.
Explaining where the girls are at now, Emma says “at the moment, it’s so difficult to go ‘Right!’ Geri has had her baby, and of course has to take that time.”
“It’s about finding the perfect time. We want to make it right for our fans. But it would be a shame not to do something.”
Emma concludes “we’re always talking about it. I think it would be amazing, so I’m on the case and Geri’s the same.”
Responding to rumours of fallouts in Spiceworld as a result of some of the girls not wanting to join in on a Spice Girls reunion, Emma insists they are not true.
“I’m very much each to their own and have your own time. So, for me, there was never any tension.”
“I’m the same. If I’m going to go off and do something that I’ve been dreaming of, then that’s what you do.”
“No one is ever going to know or feel what the five of us went through. We only have each other. So they are always going to be my buddies that I go to, for all those reasons.”
Bunton says she speaks to Mel B “all the time” and recently messaged Victoria whilst on a night out.
“I sent Victoria a little video the other day, because I was out at a bar and one of our songs came on.”
“I was like ‘This is our song!’ She texted me back going ‘Oh my god, I heard that song today as well!”
I guess they meant it when the sang ‘friendship never ends’ all those years ago.
Since the Spice Girls last reunion tour in 2008, Emma has definitely kept herself busy.
For the past four years, Emma has presented London’s Heart FM Breakfast show alongside Jamie Theakston.
Last month, the duo won best Digital Radio Programme at the TRIC Awards. Emma also won Radio Presenter of The Year.
Bunton has also turned her hand to acting appearing in the Absolutely Fabulous movie and Comedy Central’s show Drunk History.
Outside of entertainment, Emma recently launched eco-friendly family brand Kit & Kin, which features a range of biodegradable nappies and certified natural skin care for mothers and babies.
