Gary Payton Signature EditionNike Air Force 1 were first launched in 1982. Being the first shoe to have the Nike air unit, they quickly became a must-have sneaker. One of Nike's biggest sellers, they have been released in a staggering 1700 color variations.
The outsole of AF1's looks quite bulky, though the insole actually sits a fraction below the highest point of the outsole. So they don't give quite as much height as some would believe. I measured a new pair and found they give around 3cm of height, making the wearer near 1.2 inches taller.
