Ghosh avoids carbs before movie and photo shoots, but allows herself to relax on vacation. "There will be no carbohydrates… I just ate protein," she says. "It's really hard. But it is not for all time. I love to eat. If I go somewhere, I will see that I eat completely outside the diet. I eat the local food there, I want my mother's biryani on holidays. Or eating to your heart's content on various occasions, I do it all."

Ghosh enjoys both iced and hot coffee. "Coffee and tea are true feel-good stories in nutrition—we like them, and they like us back," says preventive cardiologist Stephen Devries, MD. "Both coffee and tea are linked to a host of health benefits, including reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, lower risk of type 2 diabetes and improved longevity. Most of the benefits are noted with intake in the range of 2–5 cups per day… The source of the benefits, beyond caffeine, are a wide range of biologically active polyphenols—chemicals with powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties."

Ghosh is an accomplished dancer, and trains for both movies and live performances. "Dance not only appears to increase positive and reduce negative emotions, which are typical effects of exercise, but we also found that dancing actually reduced feelings of fatigue too," says Nicholas Smeeton, PhD. "People may be familiar with runners' high and there appears to be a similar effect after dancing too. We have seen that dancing improves your emotional state. Furthermore, it seems to have an energizing effect. Add in the known benefits of social interaction you get whilst dancing and it becomes a powerful way to improve your health and well-being."

Ghosh enjoys shrimp (prawns) dishes from all cuisines, which experts say offer many health benefits. "Consumption of shrimp is associated with an overall favorable effect on lipid profiles and decreased prevalence of cardiovascular risks compared with the effects on those who do not consume shrimp," says the Mayo Clinic.

Ghosh uses weights during her mat workouts. "Any form of resistance that your muscles must fight against that is greater than what they normally experience, can help stimulate the muscle growth process," says fitness trainer Sydney Bueckert, CES, FNS, GPTS, NASM-CPT. So, other forms of resistance training like dumbbells and kettlebells, resistance bands, and even bodyweight workouts can help build lean muscle as well!"
